EMPLOYMENT POLICY & LITIGATION

At Donato, Minx & Brown, P.C., our attorneys provide counsel and representation on policy matters, governmental investigations, and the defense of claims. Our attorneys are proactive and versed at providing policy advice and training for our clients' managers, mid-level managers, and employees. We work with our clients to create environments that reduce the risk of complaints, governmental investigations, and lawsuits.

We also recognize that no amount of training and policy implementation avoids all complaints and lawsuits. When our clients must defend complaints before the EEOC, Texas Commission on Human Rights, or Texas Employment Commission, our attorneys work with the assigned investigators and seek to resolve complaints in the early stages, so they never escalate into costly and potentially embarrassing litigation. However, if litigation does become necessary, our attorneys vigorously defend these claims, by seeking summary judgment or other early resolution where possible, and by prevailing at time of trial where necessary.

A key area of concern for many of our clients is the retention of valuable and well-trained staff. The attorneys at Donato, Minx & Brown, P.C. understand the law associated with non-compete agreements and are experienced at drafting covenants and agreements that meet the legal requirements for enforceability, and then rigorously defending the validity of those agreements in court. We also recognize that there are times when our clients need to defend valuable employees who are sued on unenforceable agreements from previous employers. Our attorneys can defend these employees' rights, as well, and have handled all aspects of litigation associated with non-compete agreements.
